Paradigms in Education: It sounds like a boring topic but when Sir Ken Robinson teams up with an RSA Animate, this twelve-minute video flies by quickly.
And he’s right you know…there isn’t an ADHD epidemic…school is just plain BORING. It’s no wonder kids can’t sit still, have trouble paying attention, or drop out of school.
That’s not to say that kids with ADD, ADHD, or any number of learning disabilities don’t have a real need for services. But many kids that APPEAR to have problems in school may be stumbling because they are a product of their environment. And we can’t blame teachers either. We need to look at the system, or rather, the roadmap for teaching the curriculum.
It’s time we stop teaching to the test and start taking advantage of the unique abilities of our kids.
